Well, I finished the top of my daughters mermaid quilt and have basted it together, just have to quilt and bind now.... little aprehensive about quilting such a large quilt, I am going to quilt it with straight lines to flow with the strips of fabric. For the backing my daughter picked out a michael miller fabric called mezznine in a pink color.
I also finished up the patchwork top with the Dream on line from moda, this reminds me of a room I had when I was young , I think my wallpaper was similar to one of the yellow prints. For the backing I am using one of the white fabrics from the front with butterflies on it.
And because I am so easily distracted, I finished another patchwork quilt, this time utilizing the Valori Wells fabric line Olive rose. I love the colors in this one it reminds me of chocolate and stawberries. The back will be the chocolate brown color with the aqua/blue roses, will post when completed.
I have enough fabric to make matching pillow cases, my other half will just love the pink flower pillow cases (good thing it is just for sleeping) heehee.
I already have three more patchwork quilts on the go: one with tina givens fabric called cloe's imagination, lots of fun greens and oranges, moda's half moon line which is all black and white (for my bed) and also a set of squares called city blooms by kitty yoshida in the chocolate colorway.
I also started making some improv blocks using Laurie Wisbruns Urban circus, I love elephants and I love the colors of the spring colorway, makes me want to start gardening.
I am so excited about joining the Fraser Valley Modern Quilters Guild, it will be so nice to talk fabric with people that get just as excited as me. My first meeting will be tomorrow night. I have my mystery quilt pieces all ready to go. The suggestions for color choices were white/red or white/ blue so I went with purple since it is both together. Wonder what it is going to be.....
